Who's there?
Our class blog-site, Uses of Humor, of course! (Laughter, laughter.)
Welcome. This site shall serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas and insights relating to humor in the works of select American women writers. The blog, of course, operates under the assumption that humor is useful and that humor can often serve political, social, and psychological aims. We'll be continually attempting to define humor and, more importantly, taking a look at why particular writers skew toward the funny, even when dealing with grave, serious issues. Finally, we'll be asking ourselves what humor reveals about big concepts such as identity, relationships, and culture.
This blogsite also allows one to mix media when writing about literature. Hopefully you'll make creative uses of images, interviews, video clips, etc., in order to fully engage your reader. And who knows? You might even learn something in the process.
Now, let's get to work. Blog on.
